I have some exciting news to share: I’ve joined the team at (le) Poisson Rouge in NYC as a Curatorial Advisor.

First show I’ve arranged is a Kranky showcase featuring none other than Substrata Festival alumni Christina Vantzou, along with Steve Hauschildt (whom I’m mixing his new album at Black Knoll Studio in a couple weeks) & guest Svarte Greiner (aka Miasmah label boss Erik Skodvin). It should be the start of many good things, so if you are in the NYC-area on May 10th, come by and say hello.

EU tour part 1: Recap

Dear listeners,

I’m back home in NY after the first part of A Fragile Geography tour. I want to thank everyone who hosted me, helped with the shows, and most importantly, the lovely audiences who welcomed me in their respective cities.

As many of you may have read on social media, I had an accident while soundchecking in Milano, Italy and severely damaged my left hand.

Instead of playing a show, I spent my night at the ER. That was quite something I must say, but grateful to my hosts for staying with me and helping out with the fascinating Italian language: apparently it lacks a word for VICODIN. That said, however, overall my Italiano has improved from a “5 year old level” to “6 year old level.”

My apologies to the Milano audience for the cancelled show. I hope to make it up to you all and be back in your amazing city to play soon! Many thanks to everyone who helped me afterward haul gear around, setup & break shows, your kindness will not be forgotten, I’m so grateful for the support.

Lastly, to all the artists I shared the stage with during this trip: thank you for blowing my mind. From Alec Empire’s epic ambient set in Berlin to Christina Vantzou & John Bence’s moving performances in Leuven, I’m honored to play amongst you all. Thank you and until next time! <3

A new album will be released by ROOM40 (AU) this Oct 23, 2015.

“A Fragile Geography was two years in the making, and marks a difficult in transitional period in the American producer’s life. Not only did he move from Seattle, where he was a staple of the local electronic music scene, to upstate New York, but he was robbed in the process and lost almost all of his gear. The record is also said to reflect "the tensions of contemporary America, contrasting passages of great beauty and calm with harrowing waves of density and pressure.” As with past records under Irisarri’s given name, A Fragile Geography will come via Australian experimental imprint Room40.“

dear listeners: Happy New Year!

Just in time for my upcoming European tour dates, a new EP is available on ROOM40. It’s titled “Will Her Heart Burn Anymore." This entire EP was recorded on December 31, 2014, sort of a cathartic way to put behind a truly rough year and give the one-finger salute to 2014 (so long!). These are the first pieces of music written and produced at my rebuilt Black Knoll Studio in New York. Artwork by Sean Curtis Patrick, with layout by Lawrence English.

Physical copies in CD format will be available for sale only at the shows, each one handmade, numbered and signed.

Looking forward to the tour, 2015 and making new noises at the new digs.

Help rebuild my studio

As you may remember, my wife and I lost nearly everything we own while moving from Seattle to NY a few months ago, including almost everything in my studio (gear, instruments, masters, demos, computers, hard drives, files, you name it!).

For those of you dear listeners who’s ask me is there anything I can do to help? There is something you can actually do. My longtime label Ghostly International has setup a fundraiser on my behalf to help rebuild my studio. My wife and I are trying to rebuild our lives in NY and with the kind donations of friends, other artists, labels and colleagues, we are hoping to raise some funds to rebuild my studio and get me back to work.

I want to thank everyone at Ghostly for all their time and effort put into this project, specially both our label managers Jeff Owens & Molly Smith and our publicist Matthew Gawrych, who’ve spent countless hours putting this together, and of course, label boss Sam Valenti IV, who’s been there supporting since day 1 and well, set the wheels in motion. I also want to specially thank Telefon Tel Aviv, Biosphere, Markus Guentner, Loscil, bvdub, Yagya, Lawrence English/Room40, and Erik Keldsen/Immune Recordings for contributing as well and helping make this fundraiser happen. Can’t thank you all enough!
