WHAT WE DO
Remixing
I’ve done remixes for many labels, most notably for: Rough Trade, Touch, Vagrant, Echospace, and Western Vinyl. Artists I’ve remixed include: Pantha Du Prince, School of Seven Bells, Biosphere, ISAN, Balmorhea, and many others.
If you would like me to remix your music, all I ask is for you to be familiar with my previous releases and be professional about it (i.e. please don’t ask me to remix your music for free - you probably wouldn’t walk into a small shoe shop and ask the shoemaker to make you a pair of shoes for free, right?).
Please note: I will only remix music that I feel passionate about, this is very important to me, as I’m not doing this to earn a quick buck. Some remixes I’ve done are very special - Biosphere remixes 12” on Touch, for example, I hold close to my heart. Take a listen.
“A gracefully levitating scene of wide, padded bass and glacial ambient blooms” - Boomkat (UK)
“An atmosphere-drenched kosmische dreamboat of a tune that wistfully pulses away” - Norman Records (UK)

Mastering
I’m happy to offer online mastering, mostly focused on helping up-and-coming artists polish their demos and boutique label releases. I specialize in modern classical, ambient/drone, electronic/experimental, sound art, indie/electronic dance music. Again, I prefer to work with music I’d genuinely enjoy and would have probably either produced or listen at home myself.
I primarily do digital formats (both CD & digital downloads), but also prepare masters for vinyl releases.
I’ve worked with numerous indie labels: Kranky, Ghostly International, Room40, Miasmah, Immune, and over a dozen more around the world.

Gear
I use high-end digital/analog gear (Soundcraft, Genelec, MOTU) and software plug-ins (Universal Audio, Brainworxs, DMG Audio, Waves). Most importantly: a pair of good ol’ ears combined with vast experience, knowledge and good judgment.
Philosophy
I hate the volume wars and despise overly compressed albums. If you are hiring me to master your work, you are doing so with the understanding that what I’m bringing to the table is years of experience, a new perspective on how your music should sound and most importantly, the ability to find a good balance between fidelity and levels across a multitude of systems (ever noticed why your mix doesn’t translate well from the studio to the stereo speakers in your living room, your car stereo or your headphones?). I cannot however do magic (I do sometimes try to cast spells though). If your mix is subpar, it’s not going to magically sound great. In fact, I will probably tell you to go back to the drawing board and mix it again. That’s kind of how I operate here: with blunt honesty, not wanting to waste your time or mine.
